
Spelling Communications is a corporate public relations
and marketing firm that has been serving the business community
since 1986. During its 18 years of doing business, the firm
has represented more than 100 corporate clients, including
emerging/growth companies as well as major corporate brands
such as BBDO , Blockbuster, Baskin-Robbins, EDS, Getty Images,
KPMG, Merrell Dow, Monsanto, Pizza Hut, Tag-Heuer, Univision
and Upjohn.
DANIEL SPELLING - CEO and founder.
Prior to starting Spelling Communications, Mr. Spelling
spent many years developing his skills and experience in
the marketing and communications fields. Some of his previous
positions include: Director of Account Services at Design
Communications, an advertising/creative services agency;
Media Coordinator for the public relations firm P.J. Roth
& Associates; Principal at Reed/Spelling Associates,
a publishing rights/marketing agency; VP of Sales/Marketing
at Book Source, a national book distribution and marketing
firm; and imprint publisher for Perigee Books, a division
of Putnam Publishing Group. Mr. Spelling is a member of
the American Marketers Association, the Entertainment Publicists
Professional Society and the Public Relations Society of
America. He is listed in “Who’s Who in America”
and “Who’s Who in Business” and has served
on numerous advisory boards including Variety’s Showbiz
Expo, the IDG EnterTech Expo, the Hollywood Reporter’s
Post LA Expo. Mr. Spelling is also on the board of directors
of Multimedia Tutorial (NASDAQ MMTS) and The Children’s
Bureau, a 100 year-old philanthropic organization. A native
of California, he holds a B.A. degree from University of
California at Davis.
THERESA GUBLER - Vice President/Director of Client
Services
Prior to recently returning to her
senior post at Spelling Communications, Theresa served as
Sr. Public Relations Account Manager at the Florida-based
office of Cramer-Krasselt, one of the largest independent
integrated marketing agencies in the U.S.
Before joining Cramer-Krasselt, Theresa worked with EA Sports/Electronic
Arts‚(Nasdaq:ERTS), the world's largest interactive
entertainment software company. Theresa coordinated the
EA SPORTS NCAA Football 2000 National Video Game Tournament
which visited 64 college campuses.
Prior to that, Theresa called Spelling Communications Inc.
home for more than five years. Her communications and management
skills resulted in her progressing from Account Coordinator
to Account Executive to Account Supervisor to the second
highest position at the firm. As V.P./Director of Client
Services Theresa serves as second-in-command and her responsibilities
include business planning, client consultation, supervising
Account Executives, preparing and reviewing budgets, etc.
Before joining Spelling, Theresa held an Account Executive
position at Image Development Group, a corporate PR firm
in Pensacola, FL. specializing in trade communications for
large manufacturers. She was also Regional Communications
Coordinator for Fina Oil and Chemical Company distributors
in Florida and Texas, providing promotional and consumer
communications services. Prior to that, she was Junior Publicist
at Turner Network Television. A Florida native, Theresa
holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from The
University of Florida.
